I'm from a small town in Utah where I raised chickens and became a 4x state champion for my high school, Springville. I was also the Dave Schultz national award winner and Asics wrestler of the year in 2008, with a high school career record of 191-2.

When choosing a college I wanted to be a part of a growing program, somewhere outdoorsy and close to home. That is why I chose Boise State. While there, I received my bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and a minor in psychology, and also became a 3x PAC 12 Champion, and 2x All American placing 3rd and 2nd. I also received PAC 12 wrestler of the year and Boise State's male athlete of the year in 2013.

Besides school and wrestling, my sophomore year I married my very good friend, turned girlfriend, Abbey. Together we had our little girl, Violet. Juggling family, school and wrestling was a hard task, but I was determined to do my best in all three. I've been lucky to have my wife. I wouldn't have been able to do it without her support.

I’ve wrestled in all three styles growing up, but I feel the most confident when wrestling freestyle. It’s my favorite of the three, and I've had my most success in it as well. Some of my favorite accomplishments are: I've been on 2 Jr World teams placing 5th in Turkey and competed in Finland as a University World team member. I qualified and competed in the Olympic Trials my redshirt year of college. I broke my nose first round, but won my match. The experience and atmosphere was surreal and since then the 2016 Olympics has been my biggest goal.

In recent years, fresh off a minor shoulder surgery, I moved my family to Lincoln, Nebraska, where I train for the Nebraska Wrestling Training Center (NWTC) and Titan Mercury Wrestling Club (TMWC). During my most recent competitions, I took 3rd at the Dave Schultz Memorial, and placed 2nd internationally at the Paris Grand Prix. I'm feeling better and stronger than I've ever been. And ready to tackle The US Open and World Team a Trials.
